Ellen DeShong, LPCA
Ketamine Assisted Therapy Provider, Mental Health Clinician
Ellen DeShong, LPCA, is a mental health clinician specializing in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), trauma-informed care, and integrative mental health approaches. She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) and uses these frameworks to support clients in breaking through limiting patterns, fostering psychological flexibility, and finding deeper self-awareness.
Ellen earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completed Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy training with Dr. Phil Wolfson. She is passionate about the intersection of neuroscience, psychotherapy, and altered states of consciousness, continually expanding her knowledge to support the evolving field of psychedelic medicine.
At Centered, Ellen provides individual and group therapy in a safe, supportive space where clients can engage in deep self-exploration and healing. She is particularly interested in family systems and relational support, recognizing that mental health challenges often exist within a broader network of family and community dynamics. She is also committed to expanding access to psychedelic-assisted therapy for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders in the New London area.
In addition to her work as a therapist, Ellen is a trained chef with a deep appreciation for the connection between nourishment, mental health, and overall well-being. She believes that healing is multi-faceted, incorporating not just therapy but also mind-body practices, nutrition, and supportive relationships.
As a mother, Ellen understands the complexities of balancing personal growth, healing, and caregiving. Her lived experience informs her therapeutic approach, offering clients a grounded, compassionate presence as they navigate their own journeys.
